I am a stained glass artist. What is the cheapest and easiest way to copyright patterns I've made?

I have an original collection of approx. 30 patterns that I would try to sell.

In the United States and other countries, you automatically enjoy copyright protection. They have not once to write the protection of copyright, or use the copyright symbol, but there are good reasons to do so. Unlike fair use excpetions than some, it is illegal for people to copy your work. Enforcing copyright is something all together different. If you want someone to take legal action for copyright infringement, must Your pictures with the U.S. Copyright Office registered.
