Oil Paint Cobalt

What is a color version of a color?
For example, when I bought oil paints for a painting class, why should I choose or not choose, For example, over a cobalt blue Cobalt Blue Hue I've noticed that are cheaper in the shops, usually the colors. And wikipedia is not for lack of know where else to look, says that a shade of the same color, but with different ingredients (either cheaper or not toxic). So what's the deal with color versions? Do they mix different colors have different drying, textures, etc? Can you give me an analogy, if the wikipedia explanation is completely out and ask?
tekaro is to correct the Wikipedia article. Hues made with less expensive versions of one color. If you have two tubes of one color from the same manufacturer, one a shade, and one of the more expensive original mineral find, buy, and try them side by side. I'm sure there are artists today who can tell the difference. It is in usually not enough to go for most of us. The original mineral pigments used for this, which are the correct names of the coloring products in paints, now very expensive. So much so that most paint manufacturers do not even the original version. If you find a class to learn how to make your own colors, explore in detail is how this process works. It is interesting, but very time consuming. The paint companies found other ways to the same or very similar, to create colors. Use synthetic materials or other minerals that are very similar to the expensive versions. If you're like most of us, colors are not a bad thing. A final consideration is that some mineral products are very toxic. Often a good reason to paint with plastic or produce alternative natural materials is often the natural radioactive to avoid the other, both for producers and for us.

Classic Oil Colours cobalt blue 40 ml $50.96 The Old Holland Oil Color Factory was established in 1644 and is still continuing its tradition; the oldest artist’s paint factory in the world. These oil paints are still manufactured according to the 16th century methods and under the supervision of artists. The old Dutch Masters used Old Holland paint. All of these colors are manufactured using stone rollers which don’t change the color of the paint. Only the purest virgin cold-pressed sunbleached linseed oil is ever used. In the classic Old Holland colors no fillers such as cheap chalk, barium sulphate, aluminum hydrate powders or wax are used. The resulting benefits to the artist using the classic colors are greater covering power, strength of color and the superb intensity of classic color. The paint is packed in soft lead tubes with a thin layer of pewter, as opposed to an aluminum tube which oxidizes within 15 years. Lead tubes last a lifetime. Since this paint consists of pure pigments and oil as opposed to industrialy manufactured paints, it cannot be filled mechanically in tubes because the paint is too sticky. The filling of the tubes is done by hand; tube by tube. If Old Holland classic colors seem too strong in color mixing, try mixing the colors with a white oil paint first. |

Duo Aqua Artist Oil Color cobalt violet 40 ml $39.62 Holbein Duo Aqua Oils are artist’s quality water soluble oil colors. The paint is water soluble, but the oil is identical to that used in Holbein Artist Oil Color. There is no water in the product, only a surfactant which covers the pigment and oil, making both water sensitive or soluble. Any residue of this surfactant loses its effectiveness when the oil color is dry, and has no effect in the drying process. If the artist does not wish to use water, Duo can be used as a traditional oil color. The paint blends with other oil colors and oil mediums, though water solubility will be lost if traditional oils or oil mediums exceed 30% of the mixture. Available in 40, 50, and 110 ml tubes. |
